Communication breakdown! All set to leave for our matches this morning when we found out that the games had been set locally for Wednesday. Plan B was put into action. A visit to Baldwin St. the world’s steepest street where an impromptu fitness session took place! Next up was a tour of Super 14 side Otago Highlander’s Carrisbrook Stadium, locally known as the House of Pain. Andy Melville played here on countless occasions and this was also the venue for Ireland’s near victory over the All Blacks in 2006. After a quick lunch in the city, the boys split into two activities. One group headed off to spot penguins coming into shore at dusk while the other group played bowling, crazy golf and quasar. Dinner was served by Andy Melville in his boyhood rugby club of Zingari-Richmond and the boys retired to their rooms for an early night in preparation for the games in the morning.
